Technology conference ZENCON attracted more than 200 innovative developers from around the world to compete for a total of USD 100,000 in prize money.
One thing is for sure: those who made their way to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, will continue to not get much sleep. The participants have already been fighting for victory in 24 different projects and five different challenges since Saturday.
The teams who arrived in Mexico have had 68 hours to come up with the best and most creative ideas to win one of the five grand prizes worth USD 20,000 each. They will be accompanied by professional mentors and judges who will watch their every move.
ZENCON is hosted by Dubai-based ZENIQ Technologies Ltd: “Our vision was to bring together some of the brightest minds in blockchain technology and challenge them to spend a weekend exploring the possibilities of our blockchain and building real-world use cases on our technology. Above all, we want people to learn from each other and share their experiences,” says Erwin Dokter, Chief Executive Officer of ZENIQ.
Dokter and his team decided on Mexico as a location because the country’s innovative strength has grown steadily in recent years. Topics such as blockchain are now also given a lot of space and time at universities and research institutions.
In total, more than 11,000 applications were received for the 200 coveted participant places. Over the past months, a team of ZENIQ developers and members of the management team selected the best 200 applications.
The main goal of the event is to bring the power of ZENIQ Smartchain to a wide range of developers from different backgrounds. ZENCON will be presented by ZENIQ partners Avinoc and Tupan. Both companies will soon bring their projects to the ZENIQ Smartchain.
