Ryoshi Scrubs His Social Media

As Memorial Day got underway in the United States, the anonymous Shiba Inu founder Ryoshi decided to scrub his social media. It was an odd move because the founder hadn’t been active in the community for a year already.

Without Ryoshi’s stewardship, the Shiba Inu ecosystem had expanded into play-to-earn gaming, and the metaverse, as well found its way into the top 10 of crypto at one point. SHIB even managed to get ahead of its elder — and obvious inspiration — Dogecoin. Shiba Inu currently sits 16th in terms of total market cap, as of press time.

Nevertheless, the social scrubbing created a stir, with some worried this was a rug pull. of course, it’s not exactly unnatural for the mind to go to that place because this is crypto. Rug pulls are almost an accepted quirk of the space.

Thankfully, Shib’s co-founder stepped in with a Medium post.

What’s Next For Shiba Inu?

“Amongst the other issues in crypto (and the entire world really), I can imagine the FUD the ShibArmy must be facing and it is for this reason I’m writing this article,” Shytoshi Kusama wrote in his Medium blog.

Though, interestingly enough, Shytoshi appears to know as much as anyone else does. Shytoshi says they’ve never even met Ryoshi, let alone have to spoken to them about why they’ve decided that, of all times, to leave Shiba Inu right now. Especially since Shiba Inu is available on major exchanges and still has a very active community.

“This is the “you’ve learned all I can show you…” moment,” Shytoshi said referring to that important moment in the Hero’s Journey where the mentor is no longer required. Of course, this is just a narrative, but it does line up with past comments from Ryoshi.

Overall, it appears like the news of Ryoshi’s clean break isn’t creating any sort of panic. Shiba Inu is still up 2% in the last 24 hours, and trading even in the last 1 hour (as of press time).

As for what’s next, Shytoshi points to the growing ecosystem that includes the Shiberse, Shibarium, and ShibaSwap, as well as the upcoming Shiba Inu Conference (ShibCon). “…Shib is Shib and we remain to grow far into the future following the path laid by our magnificent founder. I salute and thank you Ryoshi!”
